Be Part of Team Duct Tape

We’re now accepting new members for the 2010-11 season. If you’re interested in being part of Team Duct Tape, either as a mentor, supporter or student team member, contact us at info@learningis4everyone.org Please be sure to look over our Team Duct Tape Handbook first.   Thanks!

Sponsors and Mentors

Potential sponsors can learn more at our Sponsorship Opportunities page. Mentors with experience in programming, mechanical engineering, CAD design, robotics, team building and related skills are always welcome. Our team members are always eager for learning opportunities at meetings and at field outings, so if you’ve got a skill or business you feel they’d benefit from learning more about, we welcome the opportunity to work with you in expanding team members knowledge and skill base, and enhancing their futures.

Students

If you’re a high school student and interested in being part of Team Duct Tape for the 2010-11 season, we’d love to meet you and learn more about you. To most enjoy the FIRST Tech Challenge experience, it’s important that potential members have a good sense of humor, unlimited imagination, unbridled curiosity and an interest in engineering, math or science. Past experience in robotics (BEST, Lego Mindstorm, Sumo, etc) is helpful but not necessary.Parents and family are a vital part of the team experience, and some family involvement and assistance is integral to our success.

Team Duct Tape has openings for up two more new students in the 2010-11 season. The cost to be part of the team is a one time contribution of $150, which goes to support team costs for parts and competition fees. You can learn more about Team Duct Tape by looking over our Team Handbook,(PDF) which includes a member application and our student-parent-coach agreement, as well.

We’ll accept team membership requests through the end of August 2010.
