Some Team Duct Tape members joined FWCS-ASME engineers for their monthly dinner meeting which, this month, featured Paul Wahnish of the Career Technical Education Foundation. Mr. Wahnish, whose work with FIRST in Florida includes the annual off-season event, Tempest ‘n Tampa and East Lake High School’s Robotics Boosters programs, gave a great overview of the [...] Go Little Bot! “We get what we celebrate,” FIRST president Paul Gudonis said, quoting FIRST founder Dean Kamen, in his keynote speech at the 2009 NETA conference. And today, Team Duct had a chance to celebrate everything they love about FIRST as they represented FIRST Tech Challenge at the conference luncheon. Team Duct Tape is very grateful to the Florida West Coast Section of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers for their donation of $250 to help defray team expenses, and for their wonderful offer of mentoring support. Team Duct Tape was invited, with other area teams to attend the October dinner of American Society of Mechanical Engineers -Florida West Coast Section . It was an opportunity to meet with mechanical engineers from around the Gulf Coast area, and to give them an opportunity to learn more about FIRST. |
