FTCs new season kicks off in September,but Team Duct Tape’s season seems to begin earlier each year! Team members met yesterday for the first of some Getting to Know Robot C programming meetings,to give students interested in better understanding programming some hands on opportunities. We also got the chance to meet a potential new [...] [...] [ August 28,2010;1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. ] Hard to believe the new season kicks off in just a couple of weeks! The summer just flew by;it seemed we were doing something every month since our return from Atlanta in April. Wait! We WERE doing something every month since our return for the World Championship in April! There was:IEEE-Robotics and Automation Society [...] [...] Steve Willingham,co-coach of TDT,was interviewed at coolTECH by Bernie Borges back in June. He only had 90 seconds to explain what the Borges was looking at in our booth,and we think he did a great job! The reporter was particularly interested in the Skypebot ,which showed how team members don’t confine themselves [...] [...] Despite on camera jitters causing one team member to forget what grade he’s in,TDT members pulled off a nice interview with Tampa Bay Technology Forum CEO and President Amy Norman at coolTECH in June, that finally made it online. We started off a little bleary-eyes with a Fox Good Day show interview that mostly showcased TDT sleepiness at 7:30am,but rallied with later clips Fox 13 filming Cubie of Cubie doing its stuff shooting wiffle balls at the camera. Members got plenty of public speaking practice,fielding questions from webcasters and other [...] [...] TDT had a lot of fun setting up our booth at coolTECH this afternoon. We had a lot of fun learning about the other exhibitors,and had a particularly good time visiting the Robrady booth –Engineering heaven! We plan to go down to Sarasota to visit the design company later this summer,and get [...] [...] TDT member,Chris Willingham,is debuting his SkypeBot on June 4th,at coolTECH.
