Hans Wolf,coach of team Minotaur,explains FIRST Organizers estimated 14000 visitors to the USF Engineering Expo over the past two days,making for standing room only TDT member Chris K giving a little robot education in the FIRST robotics room many times! Today,the crowds were a little thinner,but pretty much nonstop all day long. There’s [...] [...] Learning Together –Minotaur and TDT programmers compare notes TDT programmers enjoyed the hospitality of Middleton High School teams,Minotaur and Aionios Tyfonas (Eye-oh-Knee-Us Tie Fo Nus,they tell us!),who kindly shared their practice room so that we could better fine tune autonomous programs. In the A little help from Coach Wolf final analysis, their autonomous programs are [...] [...] Team Duct Tape enjoyed a visit from writer Suzanne Schmidt,of the Land O’Lakes Patch today. Ms. Schmidt learned about TDT during a visit to Sun Lake High School a few weeks back,where she met one of our team members who invited her to learn more about our team and FIRST. Chris Squared ( Chris [...] [...] TDT with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department Bomb Disposal robot Wow! What a day! What a game! We were delighted to come out of the competition with both the PTC Design Award and the Inspire Award. We made it into the Elimination Matches,but not far into them! It’s a tough,and rough and tumble game. But [...] [...] [ December 4,2010;] TDT members worked hard over their holiday break,meeting on three separate days before and after Thanksgiving to refine programming ,practice driving and make final tweaks. The duct tape was flying,too,as those not working on the robot at any given time,worked on their team “look,”and give-aways. (There’s definitely a learning [...] [...] The robot parts have been cleared from the table to make room for the turkey. The robot runs –however imperfectly- and we think it’s a thing of beauty! Our Team Video has been submitted,along with some sample Engineering Notebook pages,in preparation for our December 4th competition at Middleton High School. And [...] [...] All that hard work and the long hours paid off! Team Duct Tape earned the Inspire Award and captained the Winning Alliance,taking it to a four match,edge of your seat final alliance play.
